HODHQ vs Tradify: which suits a UK building firm?
Tradify is a well-established job management app used by trades in the UK and elsewhere. HODHQ is a newer app built by a Yorkshire building firm. Both handle jobs, quotes and invoices. This page sets out, fairly, where they differ.
Where Tradify is strong
Tradify is a mature, polished product with an established support team. It has strong quoting, invoicing and scheduling, a good mobile app, and links to accounting packages such as Xero and QuickBooks. If accounting sync is your top priority, it is a proven choice.
Where HODHQ is different
HODHQ is built around how building crews work. Money is locked behind the owner's PIN, so labourers and supervisors can run the day without seeing quotes, margins or invoices. Stage payment plans come straight from the quote. Daily clock-ins feed a who-worked sheet for Friday wages, and staff can request holidays in the app.
HODHQ also includes Doreen, an assistant you can talk or type to. She can create customers and jobs, log materials and labour, and file receipts or architect drawings from a photo, but she never saves anything until you press Confirm.
How you are charged
Tradify charges per user, per month. Check Tradify's own pricing page for current figures. HODHQ's pricing will be published at launch.
Which should you choose?
Choose Tradify if you want a long-established product with deep accounting integrations. Look at HODHQ if you run a building crew, want the money kept private from site staff, and want job costing, stage payments and crew hours designed around extensions, conversions and general building work.
Common questions
Is HODHQ an alternative to Tradify?
Yes. HODHQ covers jobs, quotes, stage payments, invoices, crew clock-ins and documents for UK building firms, with owner-only access to financial information and a built-in assistant called Doreen.
Does HODHQ connect to Xero?
Not at launch. HODHQ focuses on jobs, job costing and crew first. Tradify currently offers stronger accounting integrations.
